Going to an Off the Rails Song Session at a new venue: The Rising Sun, Whalley New Road, Blackburn BB1 9BE. The landlord and landlady are very enthusiastic so I hope it is succesful. There will be plenty of good singing with fine singers who are good company.
Next week is the National Dialect Gathering at The Savoy Hotel, Blackpool, from Friday to Sunday. On the Friday evening the host county puts on a concert as a welcome to the guests. Ed has a booking with the Riot Band so Robin and I are performing as a duo. We are running through our programme this afternoon. Nick
Ed and I went to the monthly Glad For Trad session at Hebden Bridge, run by Sue Burgess and Nick Dow. Some old friends there: Pete & Barbara Snape, Andy McKenna, Cheryll O’Malley along with other fine sngers and musicians. Tim Radford was over, he now lives in the States, and he sang some excellent songs. We sang A-Souling and did a couple of solos. Delightful night. Nick
